On your website or blog, you probably have some old content that is of high quality and is still very popular with your visitors. The best type of content to repurpose is called evergreen content, which is high quality and timeless, meaning that it is still highly relevant and will continue to be useful for a long time. For example, a blog post that gives tips about creating an e-book cover, or an article that gives advice about buying a new car would still have useful and relevant information, even years after it was published.

There are numerous ways to repurpose old content to make it fresh and appealing to different kinds of audience. Here are 5 of the most popular ways to do so:

1. Create an Audio File/Podcast
Some people love to read but others, especially those who browse the web through mobile devices that have smaller screens, would prefer to listen to what you have to say instead of reading it.

Creating an audio file can be quite simple. All you really need to do is to use a regular microphone or headset connected to your computer and record an audio version of your written post. Of course, you can also add new information to it. Even better, you can get two or more people to talk about the topic, just like on a radio show, to make it more interesting.

2. Create a Video
Another idea is to create a video. All you need is a simple webcam and microphone, which most of today’s laptops and tablets have. Just get in front of the camera and start talking. Of course, not everyone wants to become a “talking head”. In this case, you can create other kinds of videos, but these take a bit more effort.

Slideshows are a type of presentation that let you offer useful advice to your visitors in an easy to follow format. You would take the main talking points of your content and create slides which would contain text, images, statistical graphs and even short animations.

An article or video that explains how to do something can easily be repurposed into a checklist. Essentially, you would be providing the visitor with step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish a certain task.

Many of your site’s visitors will appreciate it, as it will help them ensure that they aren’t forgetting anything important. If the topic of your checklist is something that is done offline, such as “How to Fix a Leaking Tap”, for example, you could create a printable version as well for added convenience to the reader.
