About Sue Cooper
Sue’s fascination with computers first began back in the days of the Commodore 64 (early 1980’s), with a whopping 64kb memory. Next on the list was an Amiga 500. These were very early beginnings of a passion for exploring the inner workings of code and programming.
Then when the internet finally became popular, Sue initially used it as a resource tool for her genealogy hobby, and by 1996, she was creating her own websites to proudly show off the family tree and provide resources for fellow genealogists.
February 2001 was when Sue’s hobby transformed into her livelihood. A few friends and co-workers had asked Sue to build websites for their businesses, and being a firm believer in the saying “if you don’t love your job, get a new one”, she did just that and created a brand new company called HomePage Development – and she has loved her job ever since.
From it’s youthful beginnings, HomePage Development has evolved and grown to provide it’s clients with web designs and programming that is built completely, with search engines in mind. Today, a typical site developed by the HomePage Development team will be indexed in the search engines within a week or two, and non-competitive relevant keyword phrases easily achieve top search engine visibility – because of how each site is built using original search engine optimisation foundations and strategies.
More recently, Sue has joined forces with leading SEO industry educators Robin Nobles and John Alexander to deliver SEO Mastery skills in Queensland and throughout Australia. Sue teaches small groups of people all of the latest high performance skills and strategies in her hands-on, SEO Mastery Workshop at Search Engine Academy.
“I am passionate about helping people build their websites, not only to have a result that looks fantastic and is user-friendly, but more importantly one that works for their business – in the search engines, attracting the right visitor and then turning that visitor into a customer. Nothing infuriates me more than to see hard-earned dollars spent on web development that doesn’t then generate the required outcome for the business, ie increased sales, growth of your customer database, lead generation or whatever your website goal may be.
If you aren’t satisfied with the direction your website is heading, give me a call and we can discuss your possibilities. Let’s get excited together!!”
About Search Engine Academy
Search Engine Academy is a partnership between John Alexander and Robin Nobles.
Robin was the first online instructor in search engine marketing strategies on the internet – she has been teaching online SEO courses since 1998. From 1999, Robin was the co-owner of the Academy of Web Specialists, where she taught her online courses. The Academy’s primary focus was online training, though Robin has frequently spoken at conferences, seminars and onsite workshops. The Academy closed it’s doors in 2003, with the partners going in different directions to pursue their own goals. Robin took her online courses with her, and they’re still being offered at OnlineWebTraining.com under the Search Engine Academy umbrella.
John has taught onsite search engine marketing workshops to people from over 80 different countries, and he’s worked as a professional in the search engine industry for years. John maintains a website for professional search engine optimisers, Beyond-SEO. He’s also a popular chat moderator for OnlineWebTraining and Search Engine Workshop students, as well as members of the World Resource Center.
In late 2001, John approached Robin with the idea of teaching onsite search engine workshops. Robin was intrigued with the idea, as she’d always wanted to get more into onsite training, and this was the perfect opportunity.
John and Robin saw this partnership as a way of bringing individualised, hands-on search engine marketing strategies to you. They weren’t interested in putting on a “conference.” After all, Search Engine Strategies Conferences, put on by Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Watch and internet.com, is superb, and Robin has been a frequent speaker in the past.
What John and Robin wanted to do is create a workshop . . . a real hands-on experience where people can learn by participating and doing. They wanted limited class sizes so they could provide individualised attention to each of their participants. So, through Search Engine Academy, Robin and John are using their expertise and training to provide the premiere search engine marketing workshop in the world.
